In what has been a difficult season for our 1st XI, there was much delight as they recorded their first victory against Oxford Downs 1st XI at home.

Given they have come close in a lot of matches there was note in how comfortable the victory was. Putting Oxford into bat they did not take many wickets but kept them at a comfortable 243.

Batting has been where the side have faltered. Yet, the top 4 all went past 30. Jayden Barson starring with a mature unbeaten 75 off 96. It never seemed in doubt as they cruised there with 3 wickets down and two overs to spare.

Elsewhere, the 2s were the only other side to record a victory on Saturday against Slough 2s.
